I was born in Tijuan Mexico into poverty and to poverty i am called back into by something greater than all of us. Along with my Two brothers we sometimes only had beans and a few tortillas to eat as it was described by my Mom and Grandmother. As young children we never realized how poor we were because at the very least our bellies had food in them. Thanks to the two most amazing women that watched over us, as I like to call, guardian Angels. We were brought to America when I was only 3 years old and lived in San Diego, which I called home for the next 23 years and still consider myself a native San Diegan. I lived the American Dream. I attended private schools and became the FIRST COLLEGE GRADUATE in our family tree as well as played MINOR LEAGUE BASEBALL. The American Dream was always the carrot that dangled in front of my face or there it was disguised on the bill of my baseball cap, but I had this innate, deep down feeling that something was missing, something I couldn't put my finger on. I thought it was to be rich and play in the Big Leagues, AKA, "Grande Liga", but again, something was missing. My Mom and Grandmother grew up poor, but taught me that through HUMILITY, GRATITUDE, and FOOD, we are RICH.

I realized that given back and helping others is my calling. I realize now that I was put on this earth to SERVE and FEED our children of one world.

THROUGH BARRELSFORHUNGER I WILL BE A BRIDGE TO HELP END WORLD HUNGER.
